About Us

It’s all about connection

The earliest forms of writing, including those using images, were developed to facilitate communication, share knowledge, record history, preserve cultural traditions, and exchange ideas. The written word continues to be a way to express our thoughts, communicate our intent, and share information with others. The art of communication is ever changing as technology advances, yet the use of the written word has never been so important.

Why writing matters

In the field of professional writing, every word counts.

Copywriting isn’t just about filling space on a page, or using a tool that puts together pieces of information. It involves thinking deeper, creatively expressing big ideas that reflect what has been learnt. It’s about translating what makes your business unique, capturing your voice, communicating with intention, and building trust with your audience.

When done well, writing can:

  • Spark connection
  • Reflect your values
  • Attract and retain clients
  • Improve your online presence and search ranking
  • Inspire your reader to take action

Ultimately, good content builds strong relationships, and that’s the key to growing your business.

What goes wrong in content writing

When I began editing websites, I noticed a recurring problem: content that shared information, but lacked connection.

It often felt:

  • Generic or repetitive
  • Too sales-driven without addressing the reader’s real needs or relating to their lived experience
  • Disconnected from the personality or values of the business

What was missing was the personal, client focused and even emotional connection that good writing provides. When you read something well written, the language flows. It resonates with your thirst for information, and on some level you also connect with what relates to your own story. You feel it.

With AI tools becoming more common, some content starts to sound the same, using familiar layouts, vague language, repetitive structure. These tools are useful, but they can’t replace the nuance and emotional intelligence of writing from a human perspective.

If you want content that stands out and speaks to your audience, that’s where I come in.

How my own writing connection was made

I didn’t always see myself as a writer. Even when I was attending writers’ groups or working on a book, it just felt like “something I could do.” Friends, family, and colleagues often asked me to help write or edit reports, resumes, cover letters, or content for their websites. Before long, I was creating blog posts, flyers, training material, and more. My background in health, community services, retail, employment, and education gave me the insight to write content that’s informed, relatable, and true to its intent and purpose.

That’s when CatScribe came to life. A place where I could bring together my love of writing and years of professional experience.
